Mr. Mark Lungershausen

I was born in Rochester, NY and raised nearby in Henrietta.  I took some piano, cello, and trombone lessons throughout elementary up to 7th grade, then got tired of music. I didn't get back into it until I took a piano class during my junior year.  After graduating from Rush-Henrietta Senior High in 2000, I attended college at SUNY Fredonia to study piano and music education.  In 2004, I went to New York City to student teach at two schools in Manhattan.  I later studied Music Education online through Boston University from 2007-2009. I have taught here at Hinsdale since the 2004.

I have been heavily involved with school and community theater productions as a piano accompanist, vocal director, and actor.  My favorite part of working at Hinsdale is the feeling of family here. The students and faculty are so wonderful to work with.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time at home with my wife Mona (also a music teacher), our son Daniel, our dachshund Calvin and cat Mimi, reading, practicing piano, songwriting, classical composing, gardening/yardwork, and staying physically fit.  I LOVE learning and playing big classical piano pieces and writing pop/rock songs.
