Nurse Mallery wants to remind everyone that we are in that time of the year in which many tend to get the sniffles, sneezes, coughs, and for some, much more.
She would like to remind everyone to practice sneeze and cough etiquette, along with washing hands or using hand sanitizer; students should be reminded of this as well.
Attached are tips for staying healthy and the 2024 CDC Covid/FLU/Resp. Virus guidelines.

Dear Families,
New York State's Blue Ribbon Commission on Graduation Measures was established in November 2019 to review and recommend changes to the state's high school diploma requirements.
The Commission's work was driven by the need to address disparities in educational outcomes, ensure equity, and provide multiple pathways for students to demonstrate their readiness for graduation. The traditional reliance on standardized testing, particularly the Regents Exams, was scrutinized, with the recognition that a one-size-fits-all approach might not serve all students well, particularly those from marginalized communities.
The Commission's recommendations, expected to lead to significant changes in diploma requirements, focus on a more holistic approach to assessing student readiness. The Commission's work reflects a broader shift in education towards personalized learning and equity.
You are invited to attend to hear these recommendations and provide your feedback. We know that many of you are educators, former educators or are parents and caregivers to students. Your voice and perspective are valued in these conversations.
CA BOCES will be hosting a forum to review NYS Blue Ribbon Commission Recommendations:
Blue Ribbon Ambassador Public Forum
Wednesday, September 18 from 11:15AM - 3:00PM
CA BOCES CTE Center in Olean or Zoom
A second Zoom session will be available for families to participate on 9/19.
Open to parents and families, community members, students, and educators. When registering, please indicate your attendance preference (in-person/Zoom)
